Meliora Tech Pty Ltd ("Meliora", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
01Who we are
Meliora Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 12 698 293 659) is an Australian company based in Melbourne, Victoria. We build calm, evidence-led software — beginning with Drift, our sleep app, which is currently in private beta. This policy covers personal information collected through this website, including our waitlist and contact form.
02Information we collect
We aim to collect only what we need. Through this website, that includes:
- Waitlist details — your email address, and your first name if you choose to provide it, when you join the Drift waitlist.
- Contact details — your name, email address and the contents of your message when you use our contact form.
- Technical information — limited information your browser sends automatically when you visit, such as your IP address, device and browser type. This is handled by our hosting provider as part of delivering and securing the site.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) through this website. Where the Drift app itself collects information to provide its features, that handling is described separately within the app.
03How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- add you to the Drift waitlist and let you know when Drift opens or when there is news directly relevant to your place on it;
- respond to your enquiries and provide the information or support you have asked for;
- operate, secure and improve our website; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will only send you marketing communications you would reasonably expect — for the waitlist, that means messages about Drift's launch. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
04How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the site, and only so far as they need it to provide their service to us. These currently include:
- Netlify — our website hosting and form-handling provider. Waitlist and contact form submissions are processed and stored through Netlify on our behalf.
- Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google's font service, which means your browser connects to Google to retrieve them and Google may receive your IP address as part of that request.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
05Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including those above) may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs. By using this website and submitting information, you consent to this overseas handling.
06Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently run third-party analytics. Our host may use strictly necessary cookies or logs to deliver and protect the site. If we introduce analytics in future, we will update this policy first.
07Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above — for example, keeping your waitlist details until Drift has launched and you have had the chance to take up your place, or you ask us to remove them. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
08Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including by relying on reputable providers with their own security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
09Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time; and
- Complain if you think we have mishandled your information.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10Children's privacy
This website and the Drift waitlist are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our products and practices evolve. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
